There is nothing better than inviting friends over and gathering around the fire pit in your backyard on nice summer evenings. Whether toasting marshmallows over the flames, sipping on a few beers or just watching the dancing flames and enjoying the nighttime sky, a fire pit is a great way to make outdoor space intimate, warm and inviting and is guaranteed to make everyone’s world a better place. Friends and family will be drawn to sit with you for great conversation and friendship building.

Today we’re going to show you some incredible DIY fire pit ideas from simple round or square shaped pits to multi-level stone designs. Some of these DIY fire pits are made from the recycled materials with a bit of creativity, like the wine barrel, flower pot, car wheel, purchase cart and so on. Some are constructed from many different materials, like metal, stone, cinder blocks, etc, which is effort and time intensive and need some construction skills. You can do it yourself or ask a few friends for help. When selecting and building your fire pit, make sure you avoid using wet stones.
